Sasquatch Walked

Sasquatch....Yeti...
mysterious stranger
f.k.a bigfoot and abominable snowman...
was on my mind as I traveled home
late the other night...
his unseen presence so strong
in the darkness illuminated
by moon's intensity...
I half expected to see
his giant hair covered figure
cross the road in front of me.....
strange was this thought...yet...
these desolate roads journeyed
in off beat hours
are just the kind...that such...an apparition...
could be expected on...........but...
creature of legends...and whispers...
remains...a wild thought spoken
to scare someone's imagination...
inspiring a manic panic
in those with vision borne
from too many unknowns...
too few glimpses of a fellow earthling
we cannot imagine
could truly exist...in this day and age
of sure and ready explanations....
Some years ago...in dreams sent...
Sasquatch...walked these mountains...
upright and proud... in the open...
no longer hiding
from human fear...
eyes of ochre gleaming with
their own knowing.......and purpose.........................
