A while back, my daughter and I watched apprehensively as this unfortunate snake tried to make its way across a wide 2 lane Colorado highway. We felt helpless watching its slow, meticulous journey, knowing that the outcome would most likely not be a good one...as we have noticed that too often motorists...for some incomprehensible reason...like to purposely aim their cars at animals crossing a road...   It made it past the first lane and was partway into the next when a large SUV...then a couple more...ran it over...
