Whew. Finally. I've neglected this blog long enough. A couple of days ago I told myself that no matter what...I would take some photos and post something that day. So on the way home I took the back roads in hopes of getting some good shots. Luckily for me...the evening sky obliged....and I got some fine photos...but posting...well that was for another time....since sometimes...life just intervenes...pulling our attention to matters other than what we may want to really focus on. Many photo "ops" have been passed over in the last months...like the red tailed hawk sitting tall on a tree...a clump of snow on his head...the mosquito hovering confusedly over 5 inches of freshly fallen snow...the magpie calmly catching a ride on a horse's back....captured only in my mind.
These night sky photos were taken with a digital camera...flash set to off...even though it was quite dark...dark enough to not be able to see that that spectacular cloud hanging around the moon was actually a guardian figure gliding the sky.... The mountain night... the moon...the clouds...and the sky were extraordinary as ever...and posting photos of what passed in the night seems an appropriate way to break my blog fast....
