I saw a young woman
holding hands
with her mother as
they walked in silence...

Happy for them
my heart twinged sadness
at the thought of
my own mother
whose hand I can hold now
only in dreams.........

Changes

Summer's just about gone...flowers are already dying...and I dread the thought of snow coming. One may think that's a strange thought for one who 's chosen to live in the depths of the Colorado mountains. It's just that I've always loved mountains...so...dealing with the cold and snow just happen to come along with living the love.

Negative thoughts aside...another year has begun for me and I'm grateful. Grateful that I made it another year in health. Grateful that most of my immediate family lives close and I get to see and hug them regularly. Grateful that some old friends have found me. Grateful for being able to attend my kung fu school and learn amazing things from my teacher. Grateful for being able to see the view below every day. Grateful for...you get the idea....just about everything...in this life...
